About Me

For over 15 years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals through life’s most challenging transitions. While I previously worked with children and adolescents managing major mental health concerns, my practice now focuses exclusively on women’s mental health—particularly during the perinatal period. I specialize in working with women navigating mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, relationship issues, and major life transitions across the lifespan. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPCS), and hold a Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C). I earned my B.A. in Psychology from Roanoke College in 2008 and my M.A. in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine from Boston University School of Medicine in 2010.

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based care. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), tailoring treatment to each client’s needs and goals.

Before opening my private practice, I spent 10 years as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). At MUSC’s Women’s Reproductive Behavioral Health Clinic, I provided therapy to women during pregnancy and postpartum, supervised our clinical team, and directed our Master’s Internship Program to support and train future mental health professionals.

In addition to my clinical work, I taught graduate-level courses on group therapy for 10 years at Boston University’s Master of Social Work program. I currently serve on the Board of the South Carolina Society for Clinical Social Work as the Treasurer and formerly the President, where I’m committed to promoting education, advocacy, and collaboration within our field.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and children, exploring the Lowcountry’s natural beauty and vibrant community.
